You are about to embark on a new chapter in your lives, one in which you will be even more involved in the affairs of your state, nation, and neighborhood. Your active civic engagement as a voter is crucial to that process as a citizen. The time to engage is now!
NOTE: Since you are in college, you have the option to register from your college address or your parent's address. There are good reasons for registering and voting at either residence, but keep in mind, the final choice is yours.
With the upcoming 2024 election, New Jersey's State Department has provided us 3 ways that we can vote for this upcoming election. But before we can vote we have to register as a Voter. Register Today!
How Can I Vote?
Registered voters can apply for aÌývote-by-mail ballotÌýby following the instructions found atÌýÌýor contacting their County Clerk.
Then, VOTE and RETURN your ballot one of the following ways...
• Secure Ballot Drop Box:ÌýPlace your vote-by-mail ballot in one of your county’s secure ballot drop boxes by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Drop box locations can be found atÌý.
• Board of Elections Office:ÌýDeliver your vote-by-mail ballot in person to your county’s Board of Elections Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. County Election Officials’ contact information can be found atÌý.
• Your vote-by-mail ballotÌýMUSTÌýbe postmarked on or beforeÌý8:00 p.m. on Election DayÌýand be received by your county’s Board of Elections on or before the sixth day after the close of the polls.
NOTE:ÌýYour Vote-By-Mail ballotÌýCANNOTÌýbe returned to your In-Person Early Voting Poll Location or your Election Day Poll Location.
This option enables all registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during a five-day period prior to Election Day. You can choose to vote, in person, when it’s most convenient for your schedule. No matter where you live in the county, you can vote your specific ballot at any of your county’s designated in-person early voting sites. Find your county’s sites at VOTE.NJ.GOV. In-person early voting sites will be open Wednesday, May 29, through Sunday, June 2. Hours will be Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Accommodations will be made for voters with disabilities.

The Voter Registration Deadline is 21 days before the election.

Each NJ county will hold in-person machine voting. Each county, depending on its size will designate a minimum of 3 to 10 voting locations for early in-person voting purposes. Early voting polling locations will be open from at least 10 am to 8 pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and from at least 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays.

Yes, if you choose to leave a race or question blank, your other votes will still be counted
To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- A United States citizen
- At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
- A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
- You are not serving a sentence of Incarceration as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States.
