Services for Faculty and Staff
An ongoing look at wellness events for faculty and staff at Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ. To request wellness workshops for yourself and othersÌýas well as for any comments and suggestions, contact our Peer Wellness Coaching Coordinator youthser.guerrero@njit.edu
Wellness WednesdayÌý-Ìý at 9:30amÌýand 3:30pm to explore Wellness strategies. A combination of education and real time practice. Also a place to share, if you choose to, about your wellness wins and hurdles so we can be supportive!Ìý
- Weightlifting Group - Meets Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:30am. Wednesdays at the WEC 2nd Floor gym and Thursdays at Warren Street Gym. This group gets together to exercise using weights from small to big. You can bring your own workout or folllow along with someone else. There are showers at both gyms. You can add your name and create new meet-up times on this Ìýregistration is encouraged
- Kickboxing Group - Meets on Wednesdays at 12:30 in the Raquetball room at the 2nd floor of the WEC. Led by an experienced coach and staff member, this is a step into a useful and intense martial art!Ìý

Peer Wellness Coaching is a confidential service thatÌýsupportsÌýthe optimalÌýwell-being of employees by empowering them to make decisions,Ìýset goals, and take action to experience a satisfying life balance. It is a gentle approach to long-term lifestyle adjustment. Faculty and Staff would receive coaching from our in-house wellness coach and program coordinator, Youthser Guerrero. Coaching begins as a conversation in a setting that is comfortable to you. From there, your coach will support you in various ways towards the goal(s) you've set. YouÌýwill receive support that "meets you where you are" and considers ways to gently refocus you on the mission to create a healthier you!Ìý

We will create wellness challenges to diversify our communities activities and those can be found through BetterYou when you use our . Through the app, you can invite other colleagues to join in the fun, let's motivate each other to be healthier!Ìý
Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Faculty and staff interested in participating in wellness coaching will meet with our program coordinator, YouthserÌý("yo-sir")ÌýGuerrero most recently supported healthcare professionals during the Covid19 pandemic and has prior years of experienceÌýpromoting health and wellness across diverse demographics in various settings. He received a Masters in Exercise Science from Montclair State University.
YouthserÌýpromotes his own wellness by listening toÌýmusic, moving, cooking, practicing mindfulness and learning. He is lovingly supportedÌýbyÌýhis wife Carolyn and daughters Elise and Charlotte.ÌýYouthser believes in ongoing learning, practicing compassion towards self and others and inserting fun into life as much as possible.Ìý
